Receive Jesus Christ

Many people view Christianity as attending church, performing rituals, and/or not committing certain sins. That is not Christianity. True Christianity is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior means placing your own faith and trust in Him. No one is saved by the faith of someone else. No one is forgiven by doing certain good deeds. The only way to be saved unto eternal life is to personally accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, trusting in His death as the payment for your sins and in His resurrection as being His victory over death unto eternal life. Yes! Jesus is Victorious! Do you trust that He will save you? Is Jesus personally your Lord and Savior? Choosing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you’ll ever make.

The Scriptures promise, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:9–10,13).

By His grace, God has already done everything to provide salvation. Your part is simply to believe and receive.

If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, pray the following prayer to God. Remember, believing in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross for you is what saves you from sin and eternal death. This prayer is simply commanded by God as a way to express to Him your belief in Jesus Christ and to thank Him for providing for your salvation. Are you ready?

Pray out loud:

God, I know that I have sinned and deserve punishment. But I believe You sent Jesus to take the punishment so that through faith in Jesus, I would be forgiven. I receive Your offer of forgiveness and place my life and trust in Your hands. Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead. You are alive! Yes! You are forever sufficent for me! By faith in You, I receive salvation now. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness— I receive now the gift of eternal life. Amen.

Congratulations! The very moment you commit your life to Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word instantly comes to pass in your spirit-- you are born again. Now that you’re born again, there’s a brand-new you. The old habitually sinful you is gone; with Jesus Christ, the new you has begun.
