If you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have received the Holy Spirit and have been born again as a child of God. As a child of God, your loving heavenly Father wants to give you the supernatural power you need to witness and minister to others according to His good and perfect will. Though all believers receive the Holy Spirit upon receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, God calls us to be fully consecrated and yeilded before He baptizes us with the Holy Spirit. This is the progression order that God saw as the best fit for His purposes.
If you are fully consecrated and yeilded to God's will in your life and are ready to be imbued with power from on high for all God has for you to do, all you have to do to receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit is believe, ask, seek, and knock until you receive it.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened... If ye...know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Luke 11:10,13).
If you desire to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, pray:
Father, I recognize my need for Your power to do everything you have for me to do. Please baptize me with Your Holy Spirit with tongues and fire and power. Holy Spirit, You are welcome in my life. I receive You now. Thank You God for baptizing me with the Holy
Spirit. In Jesus' name. Amen.
You should notice some syllables from a language you don’t recognize rising up from your heart to your mouth. This is the initial evidence that you have been baptized with the Holy Spirit. As you speak these utterances out loud by faith, you’re releasing God’s power from within and building yourself up in the Spirit. Do this daily during your prayer time, but you can also do this privately whenever and wherever you like. There are other more public uses for this gift of supernatural utterances as well. The Holy Spirit will prompt you when public use is needed.
